Essentials of Creativity

“Go on, be creative!”

“I want you to think outside the box…”

“Why do we keep rehashing the same old stuff? I want something new and fresh.”

Sound familiar?  We are challenged every day to use our creativity, yet few of us know how to tap into one of our most natural resources.  For many people, being told to “be creative” is like asking a carpenter to build a house without providing him with any tools.

This creative workshop will use the SITE approach to creativity to relearn the skills with which you were equipped from birth. SITE is a process of using both divergent (broadening) thinking to generate a greater quantity and quality of ideas followed by convergent (narrowing) thinking to select the best idea to approach your current business challenge and then to implement it.

SITE stands for:

SEARCH – are you looking for answers in the same old places? Learn how to seek information and find inspiration from different sources.

INVENT – take the information you found during the SEARCH process and apply it in new ways to make something truly innovative.

TEST – look at all of your ideas to determine which ones are truly feasible, and learn how to handle “creative failure” more effectively.

EXECUTE – become an “expert salesperson” to implement your creative ideas effectively.

When through with this workshop, attendees should have a better grasp of using the world around them to generate a wider variety of innovative ideas, will possess the means by which they can assess those ideas, and understand what it takes to “sell” their creativity to others. This session will also share many of the current tools and techniques to help you with your creativity needs.

If seizing your accomplishment means a greater need for creativity, then this workshop is for you!
