I Know What I Want For My Birthday
Yeah, yeah, my birthday was yesterday. But now it's time for the gifts... not mine, yours.
I have a whole lot of stuff to give away. And my readers are my favorite targets for gift giving. So here's the scoop: comment on this post with your most significant accomplishment (personal or professional). Each comment will be an entry for a drawing for some great stuff:
- Signed copy of Steve Farber's latest book, Greater Than Yourself
- Copies of the Marc Hershon and Jonathan Littman book, I Hate People
- Trifecta of Accomplishment: One copy of all three of my books (that's right, including my new one)
- Lots of other goodies to be announced throughout the month
The drawing will be on Halloween at noon (CDT)
So tell me... what are your big accomplishments (either already accomplished or planned on the horizon)? Share with me, and I'll share with you!

The most significant accomplishment I have had was becoming a teacher. It's been the most fulfilling experience of my life.

My most significant accomplishment has been raising 3 great kids that love each other and support each other. Nothing makes me happier than seeing how much they care about each other.

Not sure my accomplishments can compare to raising three children, but here goes. I have accomplished several things, first was incorporating fitness into my life via three years of triathlons. Second, education, successfully completed my MBA in May of 09. Third, focused on community involvement, will be the 2010 President of YPC. Next, will be furthering my professional career, I'll have to get back to you on that one.

During a summer filled with growing pains, my husband and I have kept our marriage intact and there were moments that it looked very possible we wouldn't. I am grateful beyond words and appreciate the work that this has taken, on both our parts. If I never accomplish anything else in life, this is my greatest reward.

Happy birthday, Tim! My biggest accomplishment(s)? Writing 3 books. Now...do I win that signed copy of Greater Than Yourself?
Seriously, though. This is a great idea. Think I'll go and Tweet about it...

It was earlier in my life. I felt like I was crawling throughout the disgusting ground. Like everyone above me just drops down the waste they discard and expect me to sift through it. I felt my knees burning and my lower half weighted down. My mind wanted to run but I simply & physically could not. These were the days when you wake up, see the powerful and good looking all around you. Those days when you look at all the money and food and wealth others have acquired, know you can achieve it, but simply fall down and cry yourself to sleep. I had just finished a nice breakfast with my family on that cold autumn day and knew it was time to break the bank, fight for my right, and my golly my first steps were really special. What an accomplishment!

Can't I just have your presents? Just kidding and happy b'day, friend.
My first accomplishment back when was convincing the school board as a freshman in high school to allow girls to be able to wear pants. Big deal when you consider it SNOWED all the time, not to mention the gender bias. 2nd fave accomplishment is still in progress: my 12-year-old, highly gifted, club-soccer playing son who's a hilarious inspiration and natural mediator.
Great question.

It's the end of another day. I put out all the fires, was nice to everybody that wasn't, and finished almost HALF of my to-do list for today! I haven't killed any of my children (on purpose or by accident), and my awesome wife still loves me. Go figure.

I'm a later in life, non-traditional lifestyle person. So after 15 years as a Security guard, I finished my undergrad at 30 something then later managed to complete a masters at Arizona State at age 46 dragging my family along the whole way. Cheez at this rate, it will be PhD at 71! My life and career are going great! My education is one of my accomplishments but my two adopted Korean children(now young adults) are really what make me smile.

After much consideration I can't think of one thing I've accomplished on my own. Everything in my life has been/is dependant upon others. I was reared in a loving village of relatives and friends, my education was filled with imaginative teachers, my music is because my parents were willing to sacrifice for my lessons and many others encouraged me; even my hobbies are dependant on others initial creativity. I have remarkable children but can't take all the credit, a skill set which has been honed by many--heck Tim, even my well-mannered dog isn't totally my accomplishment. I just hope I show my appreciation to all those who have touched my life and continue to do so; come to think of it, that's the one accomplishment for which I am entirely responsible.

Happy Birthday Tim!

It was my birthday a couple of days after yours, and an opportunity to reflect on getting older and what I've achieved. I was academically good at school so I hadn't spent a lot of time dwelling on failure until I failed my driving test - three times. I passed it two days before I went to university, on my last chance before moving to a new city, and most of my friends had been driving for two years by then. In the grand scheme of things it might not seem that significant, but it was a huge deal to me then, and despite achieving lots of stuff since then it still counts for me now.

Happy belated birthday my dear friend! Hope your day was as cool as you.
My big deal? I'm teaching at a local tech college. I published my 2nd book. I'm working on another one. Doing a LOT of speaking, and a fair amount of coaching.
And though I would love to win, because I'm almost a week late, please give the goodies to someone who came in sooner.
Big hugs!

You say the drawing isn't until Halloween which is still a week and a half away so I'm hoping I can still get in on the goodies! I'd sure like copies of your books!
My greatest accomplishment is going back to school for my master's despite having a two-year-old and a full-time job. Just a class and a half left until I have degree in hand!
Like Ms. Admin, I can't take all of the credit though. Many people have contributed to my success in this endeavour.
I hope my next greatest accomplishment is finding a way to "pay" everyone back for their tireless dedication to my cause, especially my husband. Which actually brings to mind another pretty incredible accomplishment, marrying such an incredible man! Especially considering my prior "candidates"!

My biggest accomplishment has been simple - recognizing that all my little accomplishments have made me and has shaped me into the person I am today. Realizing that my trials have been my lessons and that learning from them has made me a stronger person. And the biggest of all accepting personal responsibility for the things that I can change and then actually changing them.

All you had to say was Steve Farber...
My greatest accomplishment? Easy. Hearing my cheerleaders. I have been blessed with a certain cheerleader that has made me realize a little talent I have and I'm taking it to the blog-o-sphere. I've spent a lifetime bottling up this talent out of fear and I'm beginning to cherish it, and bring it to the world!
